Reading Notes Homer's Iliad, Part A
I accidentally did part B first, so here is my part A section of notes. Part of my last notes included some of this section so I won't repeat that. I am continuing to like the idea of family love that has been since birth as opposed to this lustful love of looks that these characters fall in to. My idea for the reasoning of the great battle between the Greeks and the Trojans will continue along the plot of family love. I do not intend that Paris son of Priam would take Helen away from him. He would try to but in the end fail. What Paris does afterwards is what draws the war. In his anger at failing to woo Helen, Paris kills the new born son of Menelaus and Helen. Then he flees back to Troy and Menelaus and Agamemnon convince the Kings of Greece that he took Helen because this would be the only way they would fight for him. This would be good to cause controversy later in the story between the generals and the Kings as they would find out about Helen remaining in Sparta and the death of the baby.
